Rebekah Hutten
Rebekah Hutten, M.A., Senior Consultant, is an award-winning McGill University Ph.D. Candidate with over a decade of experience as a writer and researcher. Rebekah specializes in qualitative research and analysis, particularly ethnographic methodologies, including social listening. She brings a deep skill set in presenting research findings and designing accessible, compelling, and infographic-rich documents. Rebekah is certified in GBA+ (Gender Based Analysis Plus).
Her work encompasses strategic planning, feasibility assessments, organizational review, and business planning. Rebekah has contributed research to projects across various sectors, with a passion for rural community development, housing, tourism in Atlantic Canada, and collaborating with Indigenous communities. In addition to research and report design, Rebekah manages 21FSP’s social content.
As an author, her academic writing has been published by Cambridge University Press and Wesleyan University Press. She is co-editor of the forthcoming edited collection, Collaborative Methodologies, under contract with the University of Alberta Press. Rebekah’s doctoral research explores women’s work in rural Nova Scotian musical communities from the early 20th century to present day, using a combination of archival and ethnographic methods.
Rebekah holds a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Arts, Hon. from Acadia University, and a Master of Arts in Music from the University of Ottawa. Before joining 21FSP, Rebekah worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Graduate Research Assistant at both the University of Ottawa and McGill University, and also has a background in music/theatre festival administration and vegetable farming. She is proud to call the Annapolis Valley home.
